The Good, The Bad and The Orals presented by Dr. Walt Whitley
There is a lack of understanding among optometrists regarding how and when to use oral antibiotics to combat ocular conditions. There is a gap in understanding among optometrists regarding the diagnosis of various forms of herpetic eye disease and the proper dosing of oral antiviral medications for each entity. There is also a gap in understanding of optometrists regarding the indications, contraindications, dosing, and adverse effects of orally applied antibiotics and antiviral medications. This needs assessment was derived through lectures, conversations, and surveys from previous meetings. This program has been designed based upon this information and attempts to bridge these educational gaps.

Utilizing New Technology In The Management Of Ocular Disease
As the population ages, the prevalence of ocular disease increases. Today's busy clinicians are looking for effective and efficient diagnostic methods. Visual fields, retinal photography, and even conventional optical coherence tomography (OCT) are useful but often detect disease well into the disease state. Technologies such as electroretinography, dark adaptation and OCT angiography are often able to diagnose ocular disease much earlier in the disease state spectrum and are on the cusp of becoming mainstream. This course will highlight the value of these imaging modalities in both the early detection and management of various diseases.

Optimizing the Ocular Surface in Glaucoma
Glaucoma is traditionally managed with topical application of pharmaceutical drops to lower IOP. This course will explore alternative options to reduce the burden of topical glaucoma medications for your patients. This will include novel glaucoma drug delivery, the role of minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, and new formulations of topical glaucoma medications.

Supervision: The Rise of Wavefront Guided Scleral Lenses
Higher order aberrations (HOA) make up about 85% of all aberrations in the eye. These HOA can cause difficulty seeing at night, glare, halos, starburst, double vision and overall blurring of vision. Patients with corneal issues, such as keratoconus can have a significant degradation of images with HOA’s and an irregular corneal surface. Understanding how best to manage these patients is important for clinicians in improving visual function.
