Dry eye is a multifactorial disease with many different diagnostic tools and treatments available to the practitioner today. This lecture serves to outline the what, when, and how of choosing technology to help our patients who suffer from one of the most common ocular surface disorders-dry eye disease. Together, in this course we will explore why incorporating the mindset of uncovering dry eye patients in all our patient populations can lead to great outcomes no matter the specialty of the practice. Most importantly, we will discuss how to implement diagnostics, therapeutics, and how to implement what and when. Building a dry eye center has never been more exciting!

This course will provide an overview of Age-Related Macular Degeneration including epidemiology, pathophysiology, and risk factors. A detailed analysis of the various stages of AMD (early, progression, advanced) will be introduced and illustrated via case examples. The presentation will review common symptoms, signs, differentials and management options for neurotrophic keratitis. Emphasis will be made on in-office diagnostic testing and the latest management strategies. Case examples will be presented to enhance the learning experience.

What’s New in the Diagnosis and Management of Glaucoma

 
 

This 1-hour course presents several new diagnostic and management concepts for open angle glaucoma. On the diagnosis side, the importance of macular imaging (OCT) in early glaucoma and its impact on our understanding of the central visual field is presented, as is a brief introduction to headset perimetry. On the treatment side, newest medications, drug delivery systems, and important new concepts in SLT are presented, followed by a brief review of MIGS.
