This course will provide an overview of Age-Related Macular Degeneration including epidemiology, pathophysiology, and risk factors. A detailed analysis of the various stages of AMD (early, progression, advanced) will be introduced and illustrated via case examples. An in-depth look at biomarkers for geography atrophy (GA) will be reviewed. The advanced stages of the disease will be emphasized highlighting the use of multimodal imaging including OCT, Fundus Autofluorescence, Color Fundus Photography and Near-Infrared Imaging. A series of images with polling questions (Is This GA?) will keep you engaged and feeling confident diagnosing and managing macular degeneration patients in your clinic. New treatment and management options for Geographic Atrophy will be discussed.
