The Tear Film: A Superhero in All of Us

Not all heroes wear capes. In fact, the 7 microlitres of fluid between the eyelid and ocular surface is the perfect disguise for a superhero because it is transparent, fluid and unassuming but ultimately a vital part of the local immunity of the ocular surface. This talk will cover current concepts in diagnosing and managing dry eye disease in everyday practice. This will include details on the comprehensive approach to using pharmacotherapy, in-office techniques and supportive products to successfully manage all types of DED. Just like Clark Kent, it's time for optometrists to take their collective glasses off and optimize vision by saving the tear film.
