Clinical Applications of Corneal Topography

This course will review the differences between placido disc corneal topography, Scheimpflug and AS-OCT based corneal-scleral tomography, and Fourier projection based corneo-scleral profilometry, including their clinical indications, daily applications in an eye care clinic, basic interpretation principles, and relevant CPT codes for claim billing submission.   Corneal topography and similar ocular surface mapping and imaging devices play if pivotal role in daily management of patients of all ages and eye conditions, from childhood myopia management to severe corneal disease and ectasia.  Every optometrist should be familiar with when to utilize and how to interpret these invaluable clinical technologies.
