Learn from Dr Jennifer Stewart's Woo U Wisdom for Defects, Dropout and Dry Eye: Dealing With Dry Eye In Glaucoma with Dr. Selina McGee.

She first asked, how satisfied are patients with their glaucoma therapy? She then asked us to us to redefine what we consider controlled glaucoma- is it more than just IOP? We have to consider quality of life in our patients. We know that there is a high incidence of ocular surface disease in glaucoma patients, which can affect compliance and visual field reliability.

She discussed the effect of preservative and emerging medication delivery systems.

Some of her top tips? When looking for symptoms- be proactive! Don’t wait on the patient to volunteer. OSD is common in our glaucoma patients, BAK can be toxic to the ocular surface, and think about managing the patient long term- not just how to best effect IOP today.
