Woo U & The Contact Lens Institute of Nevada held their First ever CE poster session

Attendees enjoyed an evening of learning and socializing with colleagues, sommeliers, and friendly local optometrists, sharing case reports (and drinks!) in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

Contact Lens Innovation in Las Vegas: A Recap of the 1st CE Poster Session

The Contact Lens Institute of Nevada (CLNV) hosted a groundbreaking event on May 14th, 2024, at Wineaux, a sophisticated wine bar in Las Vegas. This first-ever CE poster session brought together eye care professionals for an evening of learning, networking, and (of course) delicious drinks!

Learning Through Case Studies

The event featured a compelling lineup of poster presentations by leading local optometrists. Attendees gained valuable insights from real-world case studies covering a range of topics, including:

  • Scleral Lens Applications: Presentations explored the use of scleral lenses for managing keratoconus, post-RK patients, and even surpassing the limitations of standard scleral lenses.

  • Advanced Lens Technologies: Discussions covered the advantages of custom-designed orthokeratology lenses and new fitting technologies for faster and better scleral lens fits.

  • Treating Ocular Conditions: Attendees learned about effective management of Demodex blepharitis and the use of IPL technology in eye care.

A Diverse and Engaged Audience

The session boasted a strong turnout with 47 attendees. Notably, the audience comprised primarily of Optometrists (37 ODs) with additional representation from Medical Doctors (2 MDs), Optometry Students (3), a Doctor of Pharmacy (1 PharmD), and even a Doctor of Dental Surgery (1 DDS).

This mix of professionals fostered a dynamic and enriching learning environment, allowing for the exchange of knowledge and experiences across different specialties.

A Night of Learning and Connection

The CLNV's CE poster session not only provided valuable continuing education credits but also created a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with colleagues, industry experts, and fellow eye care providers over shared learning and a taste of Las Vegas' vibrant nightlife.
