Optometrists are the gatekeepers of glaucoma patients. Patients are most often identified and managed by optometrists for most, if not all, of their glaucoma care. Optometrists need to understand the importance of all glaucoma treatment options available, including minimally invasive glaucoma surgeries (MIGS). By understanding the different management approaches, optometrists can confidently recommend the treatment(s) that serve glaucoma patients their best.
