Cozy Pharma Focus Weekend - Day 2

Back by popular request, Woo U has organized our second annual weekend long event dedicated entirely to the topic of pharmaceuticals and pharmacology.

Course Description: This course will provide best prescribing tips for special populations including pediatric patients, pregnant patients, and patients that have contraindications to the drugs of choice. Traditional treatment of ocular infection/inflammation/trauma are discussed first followed by alternative treatments for the above mentioned special populations.

Course Title: Contemporary Pain Management in Optometric Practice

Course Description: Ocular pain is an important reason why patients seek care, especially on an emergent basis. The following interactive presentation will use a case based approach to explore the most effective means to manage pain in optometric practice including the importance of understanding addiction and the current opioid abuse epidemic. Topical and oral pain management will be discussed with particular emphasis on the appropriate steps in prescribing oral pain medications.
