Dr. Stephanie Woo
Dr. Stephanie Woo is a graduate of the Southern California College of Optometry. She completed a cornea and contact lens residency at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. Dr. Woo is the owner of the Contact Lens Institute of Nevada, a clinic dedicated entirely to specialty contact lenses. Dr. Woo is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optomey and a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society. Recently, she founded Woo University, an optometric education company. Dr. Woo enjoys lecturing on the topics of scleral contact lenses and anterior segment eye disease. Dr. Woo is the founder of Woo University.
Dr. Karen Carrasquillo
Dr. Karen Carrasquillo received her PhD in Chemistry from the University of Puerto Rico after graduating Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s in Chemistry. The following year she completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Ophthalmology at Massachusetts Eye and Ear. She continued her education at the New England College of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry, followed by a residency specializing in Cornea and Contact Lens at the New England College of Optometry. She is a Fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society, and Fellow of the British Contact Lens Association.
Dr. Andrew Biondo
Dr. Andrew Biondo started practicing Optometry in 2010 and it's been an epic ride ever since. From his beginnings at the University of Missouri to graduate school where he excelled at the top of his class, he has always had a vision for what would eventually become Kirkwood Eye Associates.
Dr. Biondo was installed as President of the St. Louis Optometric Society in June of 2017, He is also a member of the Missouri Optometric Association, the American Academy of Optometry, the Scleral Lens Education Society, the International Keratoconus Academy & the American Optometric Association. He is also an adjunct clinical professor for the University of Missouri St. Louis College of Optometry & was recently named a fellow of the National Scleral Lens Education Society.
Dr. Greg DeNaeyer
Dr. DeNaeyer received his Pre-Optometry education at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska. Soon after he attended college and received his Doctor of Optometry from The Ohio State College of Optometry. Eager to further his education, Dr. DeNaeyer’s next step was the completion of his residency in hospital-based optometry at Chillicothe VAMC and Columbus VAOPC. Dr. Greg DeNaeyer has been practicing at Arena Eye Surgeons for over 19 years with an emphasis on specialty contact lenses. Dr. DeNaeyer was a co-founder and past president of the Scleral Lens Education Society and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry. He is a contributing editor for Contact Lens Spectrum and a contributor to Review of Cornea and Contact Lenses and Optometric Management. Dr. DeNaeyer is an internationally recognized contact lens specialist having delivered invited lectures or workshops at over seventy conferences.
Dr. Elise Kramer
Dr. Elise Kramer is a residency trained optometrist in Miami, Florida who specializes in ocular surface disease and regular and specialty contact lens fitting. Her Doctorate degree was awarded in Optometry from the Université de Montréal in 2012 where she received a grant from the Scholarship Program of the Québec Ministry of Education for short-term university studies outside of Québec. During her fourth year, she completed her internship in ocular disease at the Eye Centers of South Florida and went on to complete her residency at the Miami VA Medical Center. Her time there included training at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, the nation’s top eye hospital. After her residency, Dr. Kramer became a fellow of the Scleral Lens Education Society (SLS) and now serves as the Public Education Chair Elect for the SLS.
Dr. Christine Sindt
Dr. Christine W. Sindt is a 1994 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Optometry. She completed a disease-based residency at the Cleveland Veterans Administration Medical Center. Dr. Sindt joined the faculty of the University of Iowa Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences in 1995, where she is currently the director of the contact lens service and professor of clinical ophthalmology. She also serves as a consultant optometrist for the Iowa City Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Dr. Sindt holds 7 US patents and has over 150 publications. She regularly travels to conferences, both nationally and internationally.
Dr. Clarke Newman
Dr. Clarke Newman grew up in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from Hillcrest High School in 1978, he attended the University of Houston. Dr. Newman graduated in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Pre-Medical Biology. His minor was in evolutionary biology.
Then Dr. Newman attended the University of Houston College of Optometry (UHCO). In 1985, He completed his Optometric Externship at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, DC and completed the Ocular Surgical Anatomy Course at the Bethesda Naval Hospital. Also, in 1985, while a fourth-year optometry student, Dr. Newman worked with William Lipsky, MD to develop new visual flight regulations for the space shuttle program by prescribing the first contact lenses to go into outer space. Dr. Newman received his Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1986.
