Wow - what an incredibly cutting edge lecture from Dr. John Berdahl!

Tonight he presented "Glaucoma - Solving For Unmet Needs" and there were some fascinating takeaways:

What is glaucoma? We don't know
What we do know is intraocular pressure (IOP) matters
Not only is IOP important in glaucoma, but also the cerebrospinal fluid (CSP) pressure.
If IOP is higher than intracranial pressure, that causes glaucoma
If intracranial pressure is higher than IOP, that causes papilledema
A new glaucoma treatment is on the horizon. Dr. Berdahl is working to develop goggles that can be pressure adjusted. If you put the goggles on and you can remove pressure, you can decrease the intraocular pressure.
