Learn from Dr. Jennifer Stewart's Woo’s Wisdom for Dr. Nathan Lighthizer’s presentation, Oral Pharmaceuticals for Anterior Segment Disease
This was a super interactive presentation with lots of polls and audience participation and a great way to end our Oral Pharma weekend. He covered his oral antibiotic paradigm - he talked about the 5 main categories of antibiotics used to knock out infections and common medications in those categories.
One of his top tips?
Use medications for 5-7 days, with 7 days being the sweet spot to prescribe an oral antibiotic for an adult. He finished up with a discussion about oral antivirals and herpes zoster versus simplex.
