Woo U is growing, and we are seeking an optometrist to help plan and organize educational events! This is a wonderful position for people looking to step away from clinical care from burnout or just looking to explore other career opportunities within optometry.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and ability to work in a collaborative team setting.
Job Description:
The Program Chair is responsible for meeting with potential new sponsors or grantors (virtually) to learn more about their company and educational initiatives. Then, the Program Chair will develop an educational event or series to present to the sponsor/grantor. Ideally, the program will contain high quality faculty members with robust topics and learning objectives. The Program Chair might also help other Woo U team members with questions or tasks related to optometry.
Requirements:
Must have an OD degree
Must have a passion for education
Must commit to working 2-3 days per week during regular business hours
Must be self-motivated and able to work remotely and adhere to timelines
Must be willing to travel to 2-3 major optometric meetings per year
Hours:
We are seeking someone to commit to 10-25 hours per week (1-3 days) during the week. We can be flexible to your schedule on the exact days and times; however, we do ask that you are available during normal business hours to connect with potential grantors/sponsors.
Pay:
$50 per hour
Other commitments:
Occasionally, we like to set up in person meetings during large optometric conferences such as AOA or Academy. Please advise if you are willing and able to travel 2-3 times per year to connect and network.
